I'm always ready to take down and put away Christmas after the presents are opened. This year we did that on Christmas Eve so I wanted to take it all down Christmas day but I didn't.
I'm actually late getting it put away as I am doing it today. From reading other blogs I see Twin and I aren't alone in feeling that not only do we put it away but we want to DEEP CLEAN after Christmas. I clean cabinets and rearrange furniture. Maybe it's not so much Christmas but the new year. It's out with the old and in with the new. Maybe it's about getting a fresh start. Do you feel you have to have everything spic and span after the holidays or is it a form of OCD?

You are not alone in feeling that way. We got back the day after Christmas and I could not wait to take everything down, so we did! It felt good to get everything back to normal. Now I find myself on the redecorating kick again. It's fun to start a new year, with fresh and fun ideas.
I do the same thing! I have taken down everything except my tree and that is coming down Friday! I am always ready to get things back to "normal"!!

Oh no, you are definitely not alone! I always want to deep clean as well. Get this, I don't have my Christmas taken down yet, but cleaned out my craft supplies for two days, and then took yesterday off so I could clean out my kitchen. I cleaned it from 12:00 - 7:30! Aaaah, such a good feeling!

I hear ya, Twin...my post today is about taking it all down and hauling it to the attic...can't wait to get it all clean and fresh again....

Me too. I took all my stuff down and got hubby to help re- arrange the furniture. It looks great. Tomorrow is clean out old toys of the kids.
