Why do you blog?

Why do you blog? Did you have a certain reason or goal when you started? Did you just want a connection with other moms? Are you disappointed that it wasn't all that you thought it would be or are you lovin' it?

Twin and I started blogging (she set us up A LOT sooner than I wanted, she's the computer wiz) because we visited other blogs and felt odd writing comments without having one of our own. We don't keep up well with ours because she is busy with a major reno on her house and I don't know how to down load pictures so I have to wait for her to do it. (See, I told you we started too soon!) A blog reminds me of pen pals. Remember them? Even my children had pen pals as a part of their English class in 4th grade. It was someone you would get to know thru writing and exchanging pictures. I thought it was fun. Blogging lets you get to know people you will probably never meet but still have a connection with. Mostly blogging should be fun and not work.

There are some that have been around a long time. I only heard of blogging about a year ago!! There are big blogs and there are small blogs. There a some that want to peddle their wares and get a bunch of advertising because their goal is to make money. O.K. by me. I just don't like blogs that are so full of advertising that you have a hard time finding their post. Or those blogs that are just full of themselves. We all have the option of just not visiting them. Especially if you are a faithful commenter and they don't seem to give you the time of day. Don't take it personally, move on. Some have so many commenters that they can't possibly get to everyones blogs every day and that should be understood. Others will never come by your blog because they aren't out to make friends, only to make a small living.

Just be true to yourselves and why you started blogging in the first place. If you are a new mom that likes to post pictures of your little one daily then do so. If someone doesn't like it (which is a rude thing to tell someone) don't change what you are doing. It's your blog and there is no right or wrong about it.

Hasn't it been fun to connect and learn from people of all ages? We have young women just starting out on their own to those who are grandmothers and great-grandmothers. They all have something worth reading.

I know we have come to LOVE our followers and when they haven't posted for a few days we wonder if they are okay. You start to think of them as family. The most IMPORTANT thing about blogging is to Just Enjoy!!

My sister started blogging before me and I would go and look at other blogs, but would not leave comments. My sister really made me start blogging...LOL I have enjoyed it. It's like a diary for me! I stopped blogging for a while when I got really busy at work, and you know I really missed it. I do like to blog!

I have so enjoyed blogging, albeit it's not always daily.....I love getting to know other bloggers, too, and feel inspired by so many bloggers out there; I wanted to be able to offer inspiration, too; hence the name Southerninspiration!
I love to know what you twins are up to!! ;)

I started blogging because my family was losing interest in my crafting and decorating! LOL!

I had been reading blogs for a while, and figured I'd give it a try. I never thought anyone would be interested in what I blog about! I was pleasantly surprised to meet so many women with similar interests!

It's great, I love blogging!

Thank you for writing these words. I started blogging because it seemed fun, and I like you both, had been reading blogs for years and felt a little strange commenting without having my own blog. At first I wasn't sure what I wanted to blog about or how often I would be able to do it. I have learned along the way that my blog is mostly going to be about my child/family. Up until this point (reading your post) I felt as though that wasn't good enough, that I should be doing more. But, I realize that taking care of my two year old is my life and that's what I have to "say" right now. If people like it great, if not that is fine too. I have to blog for myself first and not for anyone else. If two people read it, fine, if no one reads it, fine!

And, I just have to say if it weren't for the blog I would have never known that you two lovely ladies live in the same town that I live in. And for that connection I am grateful!

When I seen how easy it was to get started I just dived right in head first! It really helped me get my mind off of myself and gave me something to look forward to everyday. I LOVE it, but there are so many people I want to keep up with that it is almost impossible to visit them as often as I would like to.So sometimes it seems like a job instead of a pleasure. But I am doin the best I can. I really love everybody I visit and have come to know them better as time goes on. And if you ever need prayer this is the bunch to call on. Everybody is GREAT ! ! ! ! !

I love 'meeting' new people.
It is also great to have ONE place for all my recipes.

I started my blog because my journal ran out of pages. Ha! But seriously, that is what happened. When I had my daughters I began writing everything down in a journal and it eventually ran out of pages. Plus I love keeping my family and friends up to date on the girls. And I had no idea that I would meet such great friends!
