Walt Willey (Jack) and Jill Larson (Opal) from All My Children, were in town this weekend to do the "Odd Couple" play. Walt is our little towns famous person. He was born and raised here and graduated from our High School. LOL They're trying to get a theater going in our town.
Twin and I thought about going but we were too busy figuring things out for our business. I also think we would have been more tempted to go if the $30.00 tickets included a meet and greet after but the meet and greet was held at a downtown bar for an additional $20.00. We have watched All My Children for years. Now if he comes back next year and brings Erica (Susan Lucci) we'll have to go for sure!!
Do you have anyone great or famous from your town?

Hmmm, we have quite a few famous Alabamians - just to name a few -
Hank Williams
Courtney Cox
Hank Aaron
Emmy Lou Harris
and of course, Alabama the band
Ooh, Walt Willey! He's soo handsome!!!
Actually, Mel Gibson grew up in a little house just two blocks from our house!
Seriously! I kid you not!
He was born in the old Peekskill Hospital. My MIL went to school with his older siblings in the Little Red Schoolhouse 3 blocks away!
I'm originally from Franklin, Tennessee. I don't think they're FROM my hometown, just happened to live there, but the only famous people I ever saw were Winona and Naomi Judd. Once at a Dairy Queen and once at a Target...at Christmas time, trying to be incognito, which was very difficult with that red hair, giant sunglasses, and trench coats going on. Everybody knew who they were.
I can't really think of famous in terms of Hollywood but there are a few sports stars and business tycoons from my old neighborhood.
Oh what a cool post! I am originally from Tampa, Florida, so let us see....Steve Garvey-MLB player, Lauren Hutton-Model, Nick Carter-singer (Backstreet Boys),Ray Charles,Hulk Hogan,Butterfly McQueen.
Fun!
