How long will it last?

I have had multiple area rugs in my living room. While I like to change things up (just ask my family, it's a long standing joke) that isn't why I have purchased so many.
The reason is because we have a dog. Not a big dog, he's small. A cairn terrier to be exact. Remember Toto from The Wizard of Oz? I'm sure he is a distant relative. He's a pretty good dog and doesn't get sick often but when he does he chooses the rug. Dog vomit stains and I can't get it out. The last new rug I got lasted 2 days before he christened it. I have spent a small fortune on area rugs and I think this is the cheapest. $200.00 from Home Goods.
This is the first time I have ever put the couch against the wall. It's a very open floor plan and the 2 other walls have either windows or a fireplace so the furniture usually floats in the middle. This way it looks larger but the 8x10 rug almost looks too small for the room. I'm going to keep it this way for awhile and see if it grows on me. Does anyone have any ideas for getting pet stain out of area rugs? I hope this rug last longer than a year...

None, nada, absolutely no ideas what so ever!! I don't have rugs because Sophie Parsons thinks they are gigantic puppy pads. I can't tell you how much money I have spent on rugs thinking "this will be the one that she won't mess up", wrong! And she is trained, but bring in a rug........

I have used that repel stuff before so that when she uses it, it doesn't soak in, but it only last so long.

Bottom line is, my baby girl is staying, so I have given up on rugs even tho I think they add so much coziness to a room. Good luck with yours. If you figure something out other than getting rid of the dog, please share with me.

I've always had pretty good luck with plain ol' Resolve. My sister-in-law swears by the Dreft stain remover. I'm pretty sure she uses it on the carpet as well as clothes.

Not sure about stains...I had a friends child drop RED popsicile on a rug once and nothing would get it out.
I love that rug, the colors are great.
Oh yeah... I forgot,
The decal on that car it was script, and together. I will look for one to show you what I mean. Ya'll are so talented, I am sure ya'll can come up with something.

So I have a sweet lil doggie too that chooses the rugs!! I use a carpet cleaner that is only sold at automotive stores. It is called blue magic and is great! Try it out!

I know there are fancy things on the market for cleaning rugs, but I use a shop vac... now, let me tell you... I have a Frenchie/Mix that gets sick ALLLLL the time so the shop vac's seen a LOT of clean-ups... I don't have a single stain on my carpet. I clean up the yukky part, then moisten the area and fire that shop vac right up. My husband cleans the machine, thank goodness... I don't think I could do THAT part! It's a teeny, little shop vac too... worth it's weight in gold..

Warm blessings,
