The M.A.D.M.om Club

How many of us are a part of this club? The...My Appliances Don't Match club. What do you do when one goes out but the others work just fine and you think you want stainless? We bought the fridge and stove at the same time but the fridge is fine. How does a fridge that gets used every day out last a stove that doesn't? This is a view from the breakfast bar so you don't see the other two white appliances right away. We replaced our microwave with the stove even though it worked so it wouldn't look too bad.

Here's the dishwasher. It's tucked away and not that noticeable...I hope.

Here's the fridge. White as can be. We had two teenagers that needed braces at the same time, so the other appliances "went on the back burner."LOL or I mean Whhhhaaa!!! Are you a member of the M.A.D.M.om club?

P.S. Don't forget there is still time to enter the give away.

I am in the plain old white appliances club.....didn't really feel like starting the other club, so I just went with a new white dishwasher. Oh well. I'm just thankful for a new dishwasher that will actually clean the dishes!!!

I am not in the M.A.D.M club. We started out renting our house, so the owner had all white applicances. If they broke they were replaced with new white appliances. Thankfully, they are all still working! When they break you best be believing I am changing them to black!

You can count me in on that club! I just can't justify changing out things when they still work.

We had that problem when we started to switch over to the stainless steal appliances. So rather then run out to buy a new dishwasher we just bought a sheet of stainless steal. You can replace the color panel on your appliances. Worked great. Then we finally was able to buy a new one and now they all match.

Hugs,
Joanne

Hi Girls...I was going to say what Joanne said...I have seen that done on HGTV where they replace the panel on the dishwasher...and actually on an episode of Decorating Cents that I just watched yesterday (think it was called Collegiate Kitchen..??)- they got a sheet of black laminate and used magnetic tape to adhere it to the front of the refridge... but I have heard of that appliance spray paint too. But you know thats an awful lot of trouble too! I think just give them their time...they are still working along...wait until the dishwasher goes - then perhaps you can get a special deal on buying 2 appliances at once and maybe the white refrige can be moved to the garage to store extras? Now unless you buy the new type of "fingerprint-less" stainless steel you will not be happy cleaning them all the time! Unfortunately they hadn't come out with that yet when we bought ours. With 3 kids AND a husband...agggh! :) ~ Laurie

Hi- thanks so much for dropping by from Nikki's post!
Could the picture of you two (twice) be any cuter??? No, don't think so.
Loved your MADM post and to answer the question on the barbesol bottle, I just found them when out and about at flea markets. Now that you are looking for one--you will notice them! Before you probably wouldn't have given it a second glance. If I see one, I'll buy it and post it one my blog for grabbs!! LOL! I'll be back ... Debra

I am definitely a member! My fridge is stainless and the rest is white. You can easily get the hardware store or Lowes to cut you a piece of stainless steel to fit your dishwasher panel and glue it on. I've seen it done and it looks great!

A few years ago, we bought a black stove and a black fridge..I wanted a black dishwasher but couldn't see buying a new one when the old one was just fine. Boo hoo...then, one day, my daughter said, mom, have you taken the front off the dishwasher to see what is on the other side...? Noooo...she took it off and GUESS WHAT...BLACK...so yep, i have matching everything now...woo hoo...

You have to just look at it as your kitchen is going through those awkward teen years when you look a bit awkward but you're going to grow into a beautiful person in a few years lol. I think you did the right thing by switching to what you want. And hopefully your other appliances will go at just the right time!

My appliances match, but they are all black. I thought they would "masculine" up my white cupboards, but instead they just look ominous and heavy. Sigh.

I don't think yours look bad at all. Mix and match is very "in" :)

Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog yesterday. I sure appreciated it!
