Ugly-ella

Once upon a time I came home with a family because they purchased a dining room set and got me for free. The Mrs. didn't like me much with my faux wood look and put me in the upstairs hallway. She put a few knick knacks inside and then pretty much ignored me like I was an ugly step-sister. I was so unloved. One day I over heard her telling the Mr. she was going to try to sell me in a yard sale or give me away. I might have heard her use the word dump! Couldn't she see passed what I was to what I could be? I waited my fate.

Soon she had the Mr. carry me downstairs and I truly thought my days were numbered. Next she took out some brick red paint and to my surprise she started to paint me. Slowly she started to look at me differently. It was like she was looking into my soul and liked what she saw.

I now live downstairs with the other furniture she loves. Talk about turning an ugly duckling into a swan...but that my friend is another story.

That, my dear, is a story with a very happy ending! Ella looks like the beauty of the ball now.
AAhhh, the wonders of spray paint! Too bad they can't make a face lift in a can for people---I'd be the first in line, so I could be like Ella.
