Has anyone ever washed a cell phone before? I can't be the only one right? My son has a habit of not cleaning out his pockets. On Sunday while doing laundry, I emptied his pockets finding the usual pencils, pens, papers, money, etc. I then noticed a pair of shorts on his bedroom floor. Typical. For some reason my children think it's called a hamper. I added them to the pile, never dreaming there was anything in the pockets. Atleast not until I heard a clunk, clunk, clunk in the dryer.
The phone is now in a baggy filled with rice. Someone said the rice is suppose to absorb the moisture in the phone. When you plug it in it says the battery is charging but it won't quit vibrating. If we can't get it to work we will have to replace it. Not that my son would miss it. He either forgets to take it with him or it isn't charged, or he forgets to turn it on. But when you have a teenager driving, momma needs it for her peace of mind.
So, any suggestions would be helpful. We'll try anything! THANKS !!

Hmm, I just washed & dried our MP3 and I thought it was dead (well, it probably still is) but I will definitely try the rice idea! Thanks for sharing!
I am afraid to say that I don't feel good about it. I have also washed a cell AND an I-pod and as hard as I tried I could not bring either one back to life! Something about being TOTALLY submerged in water AND then exposed to the high heat of the dryer.....I think they should be more resilient!
Good luck though!

I HAVE !! Last year, I washed my hubby's phone. Never did work good again. We took the battery out, lay it on the hood of a car in the hot sun, trying to dry it out. (this is what Cingular told us to do) Nope...had to get a new phone.
Sorry!!
Im feeling your pain. I dropped mine and it died...I miss it... I hate phones... ugh!
